Friday with Friends

Dear Friends,

It is evaluation time again for your pastors.  There are evaluations for both Joe and I available at the church on the entry table.  Feel free to come by and pick one up this Sunday or Monday from 10AM -2PM.  Or I can mail you a copy of the evaluations.   The evaluations have to be back to the church by April 12.  You can place them in the green box on the entry table for confidential returns or mail them back to the church.

As we enjoy the new weather patterns and are thankful for last week’s rains, we know spring has come to Klamath Falls. That means Easter is upon us. With this Sunday being Easter, we will have unprogrammed open worship on April 12 this month.  We would love to see you this Easter at the church, even if you have not come in a while. We will have a rather different service this Sunday as we think of the times we have been on the verge of transformation. Please bring flowers from your yard to share with the church on Easter Sunday! We are planning on decorating the church with different spring blooms from our yard.

Our Klamath Falls Friends Church’s T-shirts’ logos have been set up at Trekkers in town by Kate.  Thanks, Kate, for your leadership.  If you want a new T-shirt with the KFFC logo and SPICES on the back, Trekkers is now set up to print them on the T-shirt of your choice that you purchase.

If you are interested in taking care of children during worship service, please contact the church office.  There is a need to have two validated people each Sunday ready to provide childcare should we need it.

We appreciate all the work the music committee is doing to improve the music in our church.  If you are interested in music, the next committee meeting is Wednesday, March 8, at 5:30 in the church office.

Please find attached the notes for the business meeting last week.  The church has been full of activity.  The Peace and Social Concerns notes will be available next week in the newsletter.

Thanks to everyone who worked in the Interfaith Food Pantry in March.  The pantry still needs items for the “store”–toilet paper, shampoo, bar soap, deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrushes, and feminine hygiene products. Packages of body wipes are starting to be requested by our unhoused friends and those who do not have consistent access to bathing facilities.  If you want to volunteer you can find Alicia Pinkerton’s email address to write to in the other announcements.

Thank you to all of the people in the community who are participating in the Singing Resistance.  The meeting is this Sunday at 2:00!  Come learn a new way to get the word out that we want peace, not war, neighbors, not ICE.

Hope to see you on Sunday!

Leigh
